20 Benefits of Using Social Media for Your Company

Tools

A growing number of companies are using social media as part of their marketing strategy. Social media works in many ways as a marketing tool. Let’s talk about 20 benefits of using social media for your company.

1. Brand awareness

Using social media for marketing will help with brand awareness. Using social media to promote yourself, gives your company a face. It gives you a chance to share ideas, views and establish your business as one on top.

Most of your current and potential customers use social media. Why shouldn’t you?

2. Direct People to Your Website

You can share links on your social media page! You can direct your followers to your website, or if they have any questions, they can contact you directly. These posts will also count as social backlinks which benefits your ranking on Google.

3. New Customers

Without social media, your traffic is limited to the usual customers. You will have a harder time reaching anyone outside of your loyal customers.

Social media is a melting pot of different types of people with varying backgrounds and behaviours. Putting yourself on as many different platforms as possible will allow individuals to organically see your business.

For instance, perhaps someone in an older demographic of consumers will search for your website using a particular keyword on Facebook, but a millennial could begin their search by using a different social media platform entirely because they search for products totally differently.

4. Customer Satisfaction

By using social media you are creating a voice for your company. It also humanizes your company. People like to know that when they post a comment on your social media, they aren’t getting a computer-generated response, but an actual person is taking the time to read what they have written and reply to them.

Being able to acknowledge each comment shows that you are attentive to your visitors’ needs and aim to provide the best experience.

5. Cost-Effective

Signing up on most social media platforms is free! It’s literally free marketing for your company.

If you decide to pay for some promotions, they are a low cost.

6. Improved Search Engine Rankings

By posting on social media, it will help to get your business site some traffic. It is also important to have search engine optimization. This will help to achieve higher rankings and get more traffic to your business website.

While social media doesn’t directly boost search engine rankings, more than 50% of businesses who have used social media for more than one year see improved search engine rankings!

Let’s be real, everyone uses Google to find information. And more than likely they don’t go past the first page because the answer they are looking for is usually on the first page of results. So, if your business isn’t ranked on the first page of results, you should consider adjusting your search engine optimization strategy.

7. Improved Brand Loyalty

One main goal of all businesses is to cultivate loyal customers. Customer satisfaction and brand loyalty go hand in hand. It is important to cultivate a relationship with your customers and to regularly engage with them that way you are forming a bond. Social media is one way to form this bond and allow your customers to communicate directly with your company.

The millennial generation (born between 1981-1996) is the most brand-loyal customer. They require communication with their brands, it would be important to implement social media marketing t get their attention. the attention of the most influential customers.

8. Research and Inspiration

Having a social media page will allow you to be able to be involved in discussions. It also makes a direct point of contact for your current and future customers.

This will also allow current customers to leave feedback so that your future customers can read reviews.

9. Humanize Your Brand

If you would like a real connection between you, your customers and your future customers, you have to show them the human side of your brand. The ability to create a connection is key! Introduce your followers to the people in your company. Share pictures of them and an explanation of who they are and what they do.

Also, try and showcase how your customers are using and benefiting from your products. Real-life experiences will help new customers to see the benefits of your company and products.

10. Stay at the Top of Their Minds

Most of us are on social media at least once a day, for others maybe more. A lot of people look at it in the morning before work or school, at lunchtime or on breaks, after work and before they go to sleep. Try to be on your account at least once a day.

Keep your social media posts entertaining but informative at the same time. Doing so will help your followers to enjoy seeing your latest post on their feed. It will also allow you to stay top of mind, so their first stop will be your business.

11. Boost Your Sales

No matter what your product is, social media can help you sell it. The number of people that use social media is continually growing and as the sales tools evolve, social media is becoming increasingly more important for product searches.

The more present you are on social media, the more likely it is for people to want to buy your products.

12. You can Partner with Influencers

When you want to buy something what do you rely on? I know for myself, word of mouth is a big influencer.

Word of mouth drives 20 to 50 percent of purchasing decisions.

When your followers start talking about your company, it will build brand awareness and you will be setting yourself up for more sales. People who have a large following/customers on social media can attract more attention to your brand! They can help promote you and you can help promote them. Win-win situation.

13. Promote your Content

Promoting your content will help get you in front of new audiences. This will prove your expertise and grow your audience.

Be sure to use hashtags. This will make sure that no matter how people are looking for content, you will be one of the first ones to pop up!

14. Go Viral

This will happen like a snowball effect. As you post more on your page, more people will start seeing, liking, commenting and sharing your posts. This will result in new people seeing these posts which will turn into more followers and customers.

If I see that one of my friends likes a post or a specific product on your page, it would move me to want to look into that product and in turn, your business. By being more visible, this will happen on a broader scale. which could result in many more followers and new potential customers.

15. Source Content

There are 2 ways to do this

  1. Source ideas: Engage your followers. Ask them what they want. You need to give the people what they are looking for and asking for. There is no easier way to create content and be SURE that people will be interested in it. They asked for it, and you provided it.
  2. Source material for posts: Make a contest. Use hashtags to source user-generated content you can share. Getting your followers involved will bring excitement about your brand. It will also help you to have content you can share.

16. You Can Manage Your Reputation

Whether you have a presence on social media or not, people are talking about you and your business already. If you are not on social media, then you cannot respond to them.

Having social media will enable you to respond to the positive and the negative. If someone leaves you good feedback, humanize your brand and thank them in the public comments or in a private message. Make them want to come back. If there are negative comments, you can defend your company in a mild and nice manner.

17. Helps You To Learn More About Your Customers

Being on social media generates a huge amount of data about your followers. You can use this information to help you to make better business decisions.

Most social media platforms offer analytics that provides demographic information about the people that interact with your account. Having access to that will help you to tailor to a specific audience, your real audience.

18. Keep an Eye on Your Competition

You will be able to see what others are saying about your competition on social media.

This also means when they launch a new product or service, you will know about it! And you can see the response of the customers.

19. Stay on Top of Industry News

We live in a world where most things are done online. Announcements, product releases, news are all done online. You can’t afford to be left behind.

Being online is essentially having a virtual ear to the ground to hear about what’s going on in your industry. If there are changes, you will know about them. Some changes might even affect the way you would do business. Isn’t that important to know about right away?

20. Targeted Advertising

Social media ads are a cheap way to promote your business. They also offer powerful targeting options so you can reach the right audience.

To Wrap Things Up

There are many positives to having social media. We only talked about 20. This may seem like a lot, but there are even more benefits to having social media than we discussed.

It will give you an advantage over the other companies that don’t have social media. You will become a more visible company. People will see you everywhere they look! This will make them more likely to use your company because your company is on all social media platforms.

It’s so easy to set up! So, what are you waiting for? Go and set up social media today!
