FAQ and Forms

Digital Drug Cards Have Arrived

Benefits, Claims, Tools

Drug cards! What are they exactly? Why do you need them? Drug cards contain your insurance coverage details and are the quickest and easiest way to process claims. They are used for prescription drugs and medical purposes, and save you the hassle of filling out time consuming forms.

Most insurance companies provide beneficiaries with a plastic or printable paper drug card to display to their pharmacist. However, do these options really stand up to the test of time? No doubt we have all experienced the struggle of the print-out drug card. One splash of coffee, and it’s done for. Or perhaps you have taken up the exciting task of self laminating. Could there be a way to create an easier drug card experience?

It’s a digital world

We are excited to announce that beginning October 1, digital drug cards will be available to all plan members! Making this change will increase sustainability and enhance our client experience. Digital drug cards will be made available to new plan members as well as current plan members who are updating their dependants. So, remember that coffee stained drug card we mentioned previously? Worry no more! And say hello to the new way of the future.

Where can I access my digital drug card?

Having access to digital drug cards means that you can now use a virtual copy of your drug card when making claims. Furthermore, your provider will retain the information on file, and will no longer require you to show a physical card at each visit. The drug card is conveniently located on the Benefits Now® mobile app. Plan members can simply open the Benefits Now® mobile app and click on “View my drug card” at the top of the screen. Pretty simple, right?

Adding new plan members

You might wonder, will this change my ability to add new plan members to my benefits plan? When you add a new plan member you will receive an email to pass along to them. This email provides their account information. Additionally they will receive an introduction to Benefits Now® for Plan Members and details on where to access their digital drug card.

When adding or removing dependents, the plan member will receive an email to pass along to the receiving party. This email will acknowledge their change and provide information on how to access their updated digital drug card.
